Lacrosse team News
On Friday 8th July, the Pop Lacrosse team attended the Nottinghamshire Schools' Summer Games at Highfields Park. The team played 5 matches in the group stages, winning 1, drawing 1 and losing 3. In what is still a very new sport to school, this was a creditable performance. Well done to all of the children involved!
Year 1/2 and EYFS Sports Days - Thank you
Thank you to everyone who attended our Sports Days this week. Well done to all the children who took part, a great time was had by all.
Pokémon Go Alert
Please click here to follow a link Nottinghamshire Police alert with regard to the new release of Pokémon Go smart phone app. We have spoken in school about this and we thought it might be a good opportunity to discuss with pupils where appropriate.
Reminder - IMPORTANT - Outstanding Dinner Money
As we approach the end of term could you please make sure there are sufficient funds on your Squid account to cover any outstanding balances? Thank you.
Reminder - Amnesty on the Returning of School Equipment
Before we break up for the summer holidays can you please help your children to search for any reading books or any sports kit which belong to school. We will be very pleased to have them back, no questions asked! The equipment can then benefit other children for years to come. Equally if you have any books that you are willing to donate to school and you think they are suitable, then please send them in and Mrs Rainford will sort them into their appropriate age range. Thank you in advance for your help.
KS2 dance club
The KS2 dance club have had a great year with many performances at a variety of events. They did a fantastic job of opening the afternoon entertainment at the Alderman White Summer Fest on Saturday 2nd July and their final performance of the year was at the Broxtowe Community Event. They were on top form again and danced brilliantly. Some of our KS1 cheerleaders also took part in the community event and put on a great show. Well done to those who took part and a big thank you to all the parents for their support over the past year.
Trim Trail Update
We are looking at getting quotes for a new trim trail and the re-surfacing of the whole school playground.
We will update you more when we know what we are doing with regards to these.
Staffing Update
Miss Bore will be getting married during the summer and will change her name to Mrs Paterson. We wish her well on her special day.
Miss Allard will be leaving us at the end of July after being successful in seeking promotion at another school in Nottingham City. We are very pleased for her and the promotion is thoroughly deserved. Mrs Lauren Briggs will be joining us from September as the new teacher in Badgers class.
Just in case you don’t know, Mrs Devonshire gave birth to twins back in March. She has been into school a few times and both boys are just adorable.
End of Term
The doors to school will close at the end of another successful year on Friday 22nd July 2016.
School will reopen again for pupils in Year 1-6 on Tuesday 6th September 2016
Staff will start school one day earlier than the children on ‘Administration Day’. We will set out our priorities for the coming academic year and refocus our efforts to make sure we are the best school we can possibly be.
Dates for 2016/2017
The School Calendar 2016 is available by clicking this link. There is a list of dates for the Autumn Term 2016 and a list of dates for the rest of the school year will be added during the holidays. Please remember that although we do our very best to stick to dates, changes can be unavoidable due to circumstances beyond our control.
Concerts
Last week saw our final concert of the year, with performances from the orchestra, recorders, main choir and boys' choir. Children and parents alike were entertained by music from James Bond and songs with made up words! A big thank you to all of the parents who joined the main choir up on stage for a song, and a big well done to all the children who took part. At the end of the concert our annual Music Awards were given out- well done to Tilly and Naomi who jointly won the Alan Merry Cup.
Broxtowe Community Celebration
The Broxtowe Community Celebration Event hosted by Round Hill was again a resounding success with over 1,100 visitors last Saturday. It provided lots of fun family activities popular with our children.

Have a great summer holiday and we will see you back fully refreshed in September.
