ANNUAL PARENT QUESTIONNAIRE
Further to our e-mail on 8th October, our annual questionnaire is an electronic form this year. Thank you to all those parents who have already completed this online form. The questionnaire will be available to complete until Friday 18th October 2019. Please click here to access the questionnaire.
MYMATHS
We are delighted to see that so many Round Hill pupils are accessing the homework activities and games on the new online maths programme, 'MyMaths'. We are aware that some children are having difficulty accessing the games on MyMaths due to the Flash-based content. We are pleased to inform you that MyMaths are moving away from Flash-based content and are continually updating the resources on the website. Whilst MyMaths continues to release content in its new format, it is recommended that children access MyMaths using a desktop PC or a laptop. Alternatively, you can download the Puffin Academy app to ensure that your child has the most streamlined user experience when moving between resources.
SCHOOL GOVERNOR VACACANCIES
Our Governing Body are recruiting 3 new governors. To find out more details about these vacancies please collect a flyer from the stand in the school foyer area or click here to read the recruitment flyer on our website. If you would like more information, an informal chat or an expression of interest form please e-mail joymiller@roundhill.notts.sch.uk
REQUEST FOR HELP WITH RELIGIOUS EDUCTION CURRICULUM
As part of our Religious Education (R.E.) curriculum, we aim to develop the children’s understanding and respect for the beliefs, values and practices of other people. In order to support this work, we would like to invite our families to share their own experiences of their faith. Mrs White and Ms Smith are our R.E. Subject Leaders.
If you would be happy to come in and talk to children about your religion and culture, please contact the school office and leave your details with them. You may not be contacted immediately but we will inform class teachers that you would be willing to come in to school and share your knowledge and experience with the pupils at a time when this links to their learning. Many thanks.
COFFEE MORNINGS – EVERYONE WELCOME
Run by our parents, for our parents. This is a great opportunity particularly for multi-lingual parents and those who are new to the school. Come along and meet other parents from Round Hill every Wednesday starting on Wednesday 6th November. Drop in anytime between 9:00 -11:00 am. Feel free to bring along younger children too.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
We hold a variety of clubs after school for Years 1-6. Letters are given out to children in class for them to bring home. Sometimes our clubs are oversubscribed and children will be placed on a waiting list. Please visit our website and click on the ‘Children’ Tab then ‘Club List and Letters for the After-School Clubs’ or click here to be taken directly to this page on our website.
SCHOOL CAR PARK
You may have noticed that the school car park barrier is currently out of action. However, just a polite reminder, the car park is for staff only and not for parents to use when dropping off children at either Roundabout or School. We would appreciate your support with this.
FLU VACCINATIONS
The Nottinghamshire Healthcare team will be coming into school after half term and will be offering the Flu Vaccination to Foundation to Year 6 children inclusive. After half term, you will receive an online consent form to complete if you wish your child to receive the vaccination.
To find out further details about the flu vaccination you can visit the Nottinghamshire Healthcare website or the NHS website.
FOOTBALL AND NETBALL KITS
If anyone has one of our football or netball kits at home, please can you return it to the school office.
FLYERS IN BOOKBAGS
For several years, after listening to feedback from Parents’ Forum sessions, as a general rule we do not put flyers in book bags for children to bring home. Instead of this, we have a Community section on our website where we put flyers of local activities / events for you to look at. In each monthly Newsletter there is a link to this section of the website (under Community News at the end of the Newsletter). However, please be aware that there may be the odd occasion where, at my discretion, flyers do come home in the book bags such as NSPCC leaflets.
When we have an external organisation in school to deliver an assembly they may also leave flyers with us. In these instances we will hold some copies in the school reception area for parents or children to take if they wish.
REMINDER OF DATE FOR NEXT PARENTS’ FORUM
If you would like to get involved in school life, the date of the next ‘Parents Forum’ is Thursday 14th November at 2.30 p.m. and again at 6.00 p.m. Click here to find out more. The 6.00 p.m. session will only go ahead if there are sufficient numbers so please let the office know if you are planning to attend.
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE’S ANNUAL CONSULTATION ON ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS 2020-21

Thanks to all the parents who have returned the Gift Aid consent forms. This will let us claim back an extra £300 from HMRC.
There are a further 20 forms still to be returned which is an additional £150 of tax we can claim. This money could be used to add equipment or books to your child's classroom or fund extra play equipment in the playground.
