Instrument Tuition Sept 2019 – July 2020

Dear Parents,

 

Thank you for attending the workshop or showing an interest in your child learning an instrument next year.

Lessons take place during the school day in groups of two or three. Pupils will find out when their lessons would be taking place in September once the timetables have been finalised.

 

Most of the lessons are provided by teachers from INSPIRE who work with Nottinghamshire County Council, however, we do have two independent music teachers for drums and guitar. As a school we have to state by the end of May how many children will be learning an instrument and we are charged for that number of children for the whole year. It is for this reason that we have to ask that you and your child commit to the full year of music tuition.

 

Each term, there is a package cost of £67.87 (subject to a slight increase) for a minimum of 10 lessons per term. Each lesson is equivalent to 10 minutes. This equates to 30 lessons during the course of the school year. However, there are 35 INSPIRE teaching weeks and therefore it may be possible that your child may receive 35 lessons during the academic year whilst you will be charged for 30.  Instruments may be hired from INSPIRE. The charge for this is currently £15.00 per term, however, it is important that you are covered under your home insurance for the instrument. All these charges are waived by INSPIRE for children in receipt of free school meals.

 

Please state below the first and second choice of instrument your child is interested in learning and return it to the school office by Friday 17^th May. Once I have confirmed availability for each instrument, you will be sent a contract to sign to confirm your child’s music tuition.
