LKS2 Online Resources
At Round Hill, we subscribe to a number of fantastic online resources. These resources are used to engage and enthuse the children, as well as enhancing learning, both at home and school.
Purple Mash
Purple Mash is a creative online space which hosts an exciting mixture of curriculum focused activities, programs and games to support and inspire creative learning. Your child can access a variety of activities using their Purple Mash log in details, which can be found at the front of your child’s planner. The teachers will also set optional homework using the Purple Mash resource.
Bug Club/Spelling Bug
Bug Club is our core reading program to help children develop into confident and motivated readers. It combines over 500 finely levelled books with interactive eBooks and an online reading world.
In Year 3 and 4 children will be learning a new spelling pattern every two weeks. We will introduce and explore the pattern in school and children can then access the related Spelling Bug online activities at home to support their learning. Please find more information about Spelling Bug in the PDF attachment at the bottom of this page.
Mathematics
Your child is subscribed to a number of online maths resources called NumBots, MyMaths and Times Table Rock Stars. We use these resources to support and develop the children’s place value and number skills amongst many other areas of maths.
MyMaths
The teachers will set weekly homework tasks using the MyMaths resource for children in Year 3 and Year 4. We would highly recommend that your child completes these tasks as it will consolidate the learning taking place in school. There are also lots of other activities that your child can complete in their own time. Please note that your child’s MyMaths username and password can be found in the front of your child’s reading record.
Times Table Rock Stars (TTRS)
We are encouraging the Year 3 and 4 children to use the Times Table Rock Star resource as this focuses on developing the children’s recall of the times tables. Please note that your child’s username and password details can be found at the front of your child’s reading record.
