Mrs Paterson and Mrs White are the Curriculum Leaders for Writing.

We are both avid readers and believe that developing a love of reading can support children to become confident, creative, independent writers. We enjoy following the Talk for Writing process in school; enabling children to talk through a text, exploring different genres and completing shared writing tasks before finishing a final independent piece of writing.

We are lucky to work with some incredibly creative and imaginative children here at Round Hill and providing Free Writing opportunities allows children to express their ideas in their own style.

Grammar, punctuation and spelling provide the building blocks for writing and we recognise the importance of teaching skills in a fun, engaging way which is accessible to all.

We love to celebrate the amazing writing we see in school with regular writing competitions and our Awesome Authors recognition each week.
