MYMATHS
As you may be aware, the school has recently subscribed to the online maths programme 'MyMaths'. It would be fantastic if your child could spend some time over the summer exploring the programme to develop their maths skills.
SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
Summer Reading Challenge 2019: Space Chase FREE fun at Inspire libraries 13th July to 8th September for children aged 4 - 11 years old. Libraries in Nottinghamshire are gearing up for a fun filled summer of reading, as the Summer Reading Challenge returns. This year children join with futuristic family, The Rockets, on an intergalactic adventure to retrieve missing library books. It’s completely free to join. Children sign up at the library to pick up their collectors folder, then read six library books, collecting rewards (including very stinky stickers) along the way to complete their mission. Children choose the books they want to read on their Challenge; novels, fact books, joke books – as long as they are library books all reading counts! Every child who completes the challenge will receive a certificate and medal. It’s all free fun and a great way to keep children reading over the summer holidays. Just ask in your local library to join.

For more ideas of books to read over the summer please see a recommended list on our website.

YEAR 2 CAMP
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the Year 2 Camp an exciting and successful event for all of the Year 2 children. The children had a wonderful time camping on the school field and enjoyed participating in all of the activities. Despite a bit of rain over night, the children even managed to get some sleep! A particular thanks to all of the parent volunteers who supervised the children through the night, your help was much appreciated.
2019 SPORTS AWARDS EVENING
We would like to thank everyone who attended our 2019 Sports Awards Evening and helped in celebrating our sporting achievements. A special congratulations to our 2019 Sports Stars, Bea and William, for representing our school in numerous events this year and showing passion and determination.
Please accept our sincere apologies for any child who did not get a mention on the evening, we will arrange certificates for those missed and present them to the children this week.
A big thank you to those who participated and supported us this year, including all the parent helpers who make these events possible. We look forward to the new school year with many new clubs and exciting opportunities for the children to take part in.
READING VOLUNTEERS
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered in school and listened to the children read this year. They have been so grateful for your time, reassurance and encouragement and have grown tremendously in confidence thanks to your support. We very much hope that you will continue to volunteer in the new academic year, but if you are not able to do this, please know that your time has made a real difference to the children in our school. RHA NEWS
Fun Run Outcome: We were very fortune to have nice weather! We had 185 children taking part in the fun run and we have managed to raise over £3,400. We are hoping the number will increase when we have claimed the gift aid.
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered on the day and to the teachers who attended to give their support.
End of Term Bash: Thanks to all the families & friends who attended the "End of Term Bash" on Friday 12th July. There was an amazing turn-out, over 180 families came to celebrate the end of another school year. Middle 6 provided some great live music, Muirhouse Brewery's 3 kegs disappeared by 8pm and Claire the ice-cream lady was exhausted by the end of the evening!
Another big thank you to everyone for taking home their rubbish and recycling.
Better still, this event has brought the total fundraising for the year to approximately £10,100! A massive thank-you to all the helpers, parents, pupils and teachers who have supported the 9 events that have run this year. It's through your energy & commitment that they've been so successful and raised so much money.
This year's funds will be combined together with last year's to fund the extension to the all-weather track around the playing field. Contractors are to be appointed shortly after which timings for the work to start will be confirmed.
We would love for more parents to get involved so please come to the RHA AGM on 9th September 2019 in the evening. We look forward to seeing you all.
Waitrose reminder: We are in the token collection scheme at Waitrose in Wollaton - please can you pop your tokens in the Round Hill slot. Thank you
