Meet the Round Hill Governors
Jon Duncan - LA Governor Term of office from 26 Apr 2022 to 25 Apr 2026 I came to Nottingham as a student in 1980, have lived close to the school since 1990, and have always appreciated the role that Round Hill plays in the life of the local community. For 6 years until 2012 I was manager for an age-group at Beeston Centurions youth football club. When the team members were at primary school age, we were grateful for the use of the school playing field on Sunday mornings - even in the depths of winter! After leaving university I qualified as a Chartered Accountant, working in public practice, and then in various East Midland businesses before retiring from my last position in February 2019. I previously served on the governing body from 2004 to 2009, covering some time when my children were pupils at the school, and then for a couple of years after they moved on to secondary school. I hope to bring some of my finance & business management experience to the governing body at this challenging time. Currently I am treasurer of the Wollaton Road allotments association, where I have a plot growing vegetables and fruit, while at home I am working to improve my bread-making. ." |

Helen Fielding - (Vice Chair of Governors) Co-opted Governor Term of office from 14 Jan 2024 to 13 Jan 2028 I have lived in Beeston for over 40 years and as I am now retired I wanted to volunteer in my local community. I was a primary school teacher in Nottinghamshire for 20 years. I then worked in primary teacher training, specialising in the teaching of mathematics. This gave me the opportunity to supervise school placements for trainee teachers in a variety of schools. I learnt a great deal from working with a wide range of teachers, students and children each year. I joined the Round Hill Governor team in January 2020. I hope to use my experience to support the staff, children and parents of Round Hill school, through my Co-opted Governor role. |

Morag Duffin - Coopted Governor Term of office from 12 Jul 2022 to 11 Jul 2026 I joined the governing body in September 2022 as a co-opted governor, at the same time that my son started in Foundation. I have broad experience within education: I qualified as a secondary school teacher and then moved into higher education, focusing on access and participation for students from underrepresented backgrounds. I also have 8 years of experience as a governor at another primary school in Nottingham. In particular, I hope to bring my experience of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to the school community. |
